A Quality Scout contributes to community information quality through genuine experiences, structured criteria and independent conduct.
1. Role
A Scout is a community user. The badge and Scout ID identify participation and do not grant inspection, public, certification or UESE representation powers.
2. Personal experience
Each rating must relate to an experience genuinely had by the Scout. Reviewing on behalf of third parties, from hearsay or without personally using the service where law requires is prohibited.
3. Timeliness
In sectors subject to Italian Law 11 March 2026 No. 34, reviews must be published within 30 days of use. Italia Quality may apply the same rule as a community standard to comparable categories.
4. Independence
Payments, discounts, gifts, benefits or promises conditional on publication, content or score are prohibited. Relevant press/event invitations or professional relationships must be disclosed and may make a rating ineligible for ranking.
5. Conflicts of interest
Scouts must not rate businesses they own, work for, regularly advise or have a close family connection with where independence is compromised. They must abstain where significant economic or personal interests exist.
6. Rating criteria
Scores must reflect personal experience against the proposed criteria. Scouts must not convert perceptions into unverifiable technical/legal assertions and must not present health, criminal or administrative violations as established facts without an adequate source.
7. Evidence
Receipts, bookings or other evidence may strengthen authenticity and Confidence. Evidence must be genuine, relevant and unaltered; unnecessary third-party data should be redacted or avoided.
8. Photos and QV Moments
Images must be lawfully created or used, relevant to the visit and privacy-respecting. Humiliating, invasive images or unnecessary personal data are prohibited. The UGC & Media Policy applies.
9. Text and language
Reviews must be specific, civil and proportionate. Insults, threats, discrimination, blackmail, unsupported criminal accusations, personal-data disclosure and coordinated campaigns are prohibited.
10. Scout reputation
Reputation Score rewards reliability, completeness, consistency, evidence quality and conduct. It does not reward higher or lower scores and may decrease after removals, manipulation or violations.
11. Badges and rankings
Scout levels, badges and rankings are reputation/gamification tools, not professional qualifications, certifications or licences.
12. Controls and sanctions
Where abuse is suspected, further checks may be requested. The platform may reduce weight, suspend publication, remove content or restrict accounts under the Moderation Policy.
13. Duty to update
Scouts must keep profile information accurate and cooperate in good faith with clarification requests concerning their contributions.
