Italia Quality applies a privacy-by-default approach: on first access, only strictly necessary cookies and technologies remain active. Preferences, analytics and marketing technologies are not enabled before a positive choice where consent is required.
1. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies, local storage, identifiers and similar technologies may store or read information on a device. Applicable rules depend on purpose and technical necessity, not merely on the technology’s name.
2. Strictly necessary cookies
Italia Quality uses the QVSESSID session cookie for session management, authentication and security and may use a technical cookie/local storage entry to remember the choice expressed through the Cookie Consent Manager. These technologies are necessary and are not used for behavioural advertising.
3. Cookie Consent Manager
On first access, an IT/EN bilingual banner is displayed. Users may accept all optional technologies, reject optional technologies, customise categories or close the banner with the X and continue with necessary settings only. Closing the banner does not constitute consent.
4. Categories
- Necessary: session, authentication, security, storage of the choice and requested functions; always active.
- Preferences: non-essential settings improving the experience; enabled only where authorised.
- Analytics: non-essential measurement and statistics; disabled by default.
- Marketing: profiling, personalised advertising or non-essential promotional technologies; disabled by default.
5. Prior blocking
Scripts and content configured as optional remain inactive before the user’s choice and are enabled only where the relevant category has been authorised. The platform therefore applies prior blocking to technologies subject to consent.
6. Changes and withdrawal
Preferences can be reopened at any time using the “Cookie preferences / Preferenze cookie” control or icon. Withdrawal must be as easy as giving consent and applies to subsequent use.
7. Evidence of choice
Italia Quality may document the choice through a technical consent identifier and a server-side register containing the consent-manager version, language, selected categories, date/time and technical security hashes. The IP address is not stored in clear text in the consent register.
8. Duration
The preference is remembered for the period configured by the platform, normally no longer than 180 days, unless legal or technical requirements change. A materially new version of the consent system may require a new choice.
9. Maps and external APIs
Maps, geocoding and place search may involve requests to external providers when the user requests the relevant feature. Any non-essential technologies used by integrated components must be consistent with the relevant categories and the user’s choice.
10. Technology register
The technical inventory must reflect components actually deployed. Introducing new tracking technologies requires prior privacy/cookie assessment, correct categorisation and, where necessary, prior blocking and updated consent.
11. Browser controls
Users may also delete or block cookies through browser settings. Blocking technical cookies may prevent login, session management or other essential features.

Use through the mobile app and PWA
The Cookie Consent Manager also applies when Italia Quality is installed as a PWA or used through the mobile shell. Optional tools remain subject to the user’s choice according to the categories and consent version then in force.
