Italia Quality separates average opinion from reliability: a high score based on very few experiences should not be presented as equivalent to a result supported by a broad and consistent sample.
1. QV Score
QV Score summarises category rating criteria on a 0–100 scale using applicable weights. It is reputational and does not measure legal or technical compliance.
2. QV Stars
QV Stars translates the score into a more immediate display. Thresholds may be updated for readability and consistency; this does not turn the indicator into a certification.
3. Confidence
Confidence represents information robustness considering factors such as review count, Scout diversity, documented visits, consistency and data quality.
4. Small samples
To avoid overstating businesses with very few reviews, the engine may use Bayesian adjustments, priors, minimum thresholds or other internally documented statistical techniques.
5. Documented visits
Evidence-supported reviews may receive greater reliability in Confidence or anti-abuse systems. Evidence does not automatically justify a higher rating.
6. Recency
Recent experiences may carry greater relevance than remote ones. For sectors covered by Law No. 34/2026, reviews older than two years are not used as current reviews under applicable law.
7. Anti-manipulation
The platform may detect anomalous patterns, duplicates, concentration, linked accounts or coordinated campaigns. Detailed rules may remain confidential to prevent circumvention.
8. Territorial rankings
Rankings may be national, regional, provincial or category-based. A business may need minimum data/Confidence requirements to appear in prominent positions.
9. No pay-to-rank
Advertising, Business subscriptions, stickers, plaques, partnerships and other payments do not increase QV Score, Confidence or organic position.
10. Data corrections
Technical errors, removed reviews or duplicate data may trigger recalculation. Resulting changes are not commercial penalties.
11. Transparency and ownership
The general methodology is public; anti-fraud formulas, weights and security parameters may be UESE proprietary know-how and need not be fully disclosed.
12. Not certification
QV Score, Stars and rankings are not accredited certifications, conformity attestations or authority findings. They are reputational representations under the Italia Quality method.
